This is a blog. It's really quite an amazing thing that anyone can express themselves through amateur internet-jockey journalism. It doesn't matter if you have anything to say, only that you are free to say it. That is what freedom of speech is about, right? It doesn't matter if you don't have a fucking clue what you're talking about, you're still free to spread your literary bile far and wide to the darkest and most un-wholesome corners of the interweb.
I have recently decided that I should start writing. Do I feel that others could in some way benefit from reading what I write? Probably not. I doubt anybody will read this, but some may randomly click on this here bloggity and decide they identify with what I have to say or perhaps my cutting argly bargly wit will entice readers to read on. I don't expect this should happen, but it's fun to think about.
I consider myself one in a million in that I've never met anybody who thinks just like I do or is passionate about the same things I am. I'm a boiling pot of eccentricity. I like weird things, I have strange tastes, and I have an even stranger sense of humor. I am a man of many hats. I went to school for guitarmaking, play the baritone saxophone in a funk band with a transgender frontwoman, and am a cable guy by day. I have experience with every walk of life, all types of folks with all types of strokes, and I gotta say human beings are a funny species. There are so many out there I still don't completely understand, but I feel that with enough empathy it isn't difficult to at least get an idea of where people get their uniqueness from.
Throughout this blog, I plan on leaving no stone un-turned in sharing my life experiences, expressing my thoughts on music, pop culture, politics, record collecting, sex, drugs, rock and roll, as well as asking questions and finding only half an answer filled with circular logic. The plan as I write is to be honest with myself as I am with you the reader(s?). The older I get, the more disinterested I am in un-truth, regardless of my preconceived notions or political leanings. The goal is not to make you like me. I'll not be disappointed if you identify with what I have to say, but I'll not pander either. I'm just going to write what is on my mind and hope that it's ok.
Should one decide to read what I write, I'll try to entertain you along the way. I may also bore you, but that's just who I am and you'll just need to deal with it. I do have a bit of hope that this blog ends up not existing solely for my own therapy, but that somebody out there in this great big amazingly small world finds comfort or merit in what I have to say. I have to go do house work now, I'll catch you on the other side.
